Our University's Future Automobile Convergence Innovation Center announced on August 25 that it held a field training and industry-academic project performance exchange meeting to provide undergraduate students with opportunities to acquire practical skills related to future cars and to exchange the results of field problem-solving industry-academia projects with industry mentors.
The performance exchange meeting, which was held as part of the Future Automobile Technology Convergence Innovation Talent Development Project, Undergraduate(department) participating in Our University LINC3.0 Project, Forty-three students, including electrical engineering, computer engineering, embedded system engineering, and information and communication engineering, conducted field training for two to four weeks, and drew industry-academia projects related to future cars with each field training company to exchange the results.
The second performance exchange meeting, which was held following last winter, provided a venue for industry-academic exchanges with 12 leading companies in the future automotive sector, including MDS Tech, Y2 Solution, Dabo Corporation and SureSoft Tech, and Incheon Techno Park. We had time to share the results of excellent industry-academic projects of our university students.
At the performance exchange meeting, the student team's "module control logic to ensure the continuous charging operation of the OFF Board Charger," which conducted field training at Y2 Solution and carried out industry-academia projects, won the grand prize. The student team introduced a technology that ensures continuous HV battery charging of EVs by preventing temporary inability to deliver power in electric vehicle charging systems.
Kang Chang-mook, director of the Future Automobile Convergence Innovation Center (Professor of Electrical Engineering), who is in charge of human resource training at our university said, “It was a great opportunity to apply the contents of e-mobility and S/W-related courses of future car-linked majors centered on the electrical engineering department of our university and have practical experience.” and “We will hold an industry-academic project performance exchange meeting every semester to help induce students' interest in the future automobile field and help them in their career paths.”
Meanwhile, our university's Future Automobile Convergence Innovation Center was selected for the Future Automobile Technology Convergence Innovative Talent Training Project in 2022, establishing a future automobile-linked major and striving to cultivate eco-friendly cars and self-driving-related talents. In particular, it aims to provide students with opportunities for various industry-academic research cooperation with Incheon National University's Future Mobility Research Center and to produce talented people with on-site practical skills through field training of automobile companies.
