Books Selected for the Sejong Books Program

First selection in seven years since 2019… Two INU Press books selected in the Academic Category

Two books published by Incheon National University Press, part of Incheon National University (INU), led by President Injae Lee, have been selected for the “2026 Sejong Books Academic Category,” organized by the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea. This is the university press’s first selection since 2019.

The Sejong Books program selects academic and general-interest books in various fields and makes the selected books available through libraries and other institutions.

This year, two books published by Incheon National University Press in 2025 were selected in the Science and Technology section of the Academic Category. The selected titles are 『For Those Curious About Architecture』, co-authored by Professor Taewan Kim of the Division of Urban Architecture, and 『AI Decision-Making: We Decide, Machines Analyze』 by Professor Kyungwon Kim of the Global Trade & Service Department.

『For Those Curious About Architecture』, co-authored by Professor Taewan Kim, introduces basic concepts and various aspects of architecture in an accessible way for readers who are new to the field. The book provides an overview of architecture and introduces the future of architecture and the role of architects, using illustrations and photographs to help readers understand the content. Each chapter also includes examples from different countries.

Professor Kyungwon Kim’s 『AI Decision-Making: We Decide, Machines Analyze』 examines the use of AI in data analysis and decision-making. The book explains an approach in which AI is used to identify and analyze patterns in data, while people define questions, interpret information, and make final decisions. It also introduces practical methods for using AI and data in various situations.

Drawing on his experience in the field of data science and his academic research, Professor Kim explains principles of data analysis through examples from everyday life and business. The book also discusses the importance of human questions and judgment when using technology.

“This selection for the Sejong Books Academic Category provides an opportunity for the academic work of university members to reach a wider range of readers through publications,” said Professor Kyuhwan Kim of the Department of Library and Information Science, Director of Incheon National University Press. “We will continue to publish the academic work of our faculty in book form and develop the activities of the university press.”

The selected books will be made available through public libraries, small libraries, and other institutions. Incheon National University Press plans to continue publishing academic books and introducing the research and academic activities of university members to readers.
