Career and Campus Exploration Program Held for Namdong-gu Participants

Incheon National University (INU), led by President Injae Lee, held the eighth program of the “Incheon Regional Innovation System & Education (i-RISE) 2026 Global Hope Fulfillment Project” on Saturday, September 5, inviting 120 participants from Namdong-gu to the university for a career and campus exploration program.

Jointly organized by INU’s External Cooperation Division and the Namdong-gu Family Center, the event featured ▲ a career lecture by professional baseball commentator Seonghwan Cho ▲ a student cafeteria experience ▲ a campus tour ▲ information about university study ▲ an MBTI program ▲ physical activities with students from the Division of Sport Science ▲ an introduction to INU’s medical education initiative. Hoonki Lee and Aesook Lim also visited the event and met with participants.

In his remarks, Hoonki Lee welcomed the participants and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity for Namdong-gu residents and Incheon National University to meet through the program. He also invited participants to visit the National Assembly in April.

Aesook Lim also welcomed the participants and said she hoped the program would provide young people with an opportunity to think about their future and allow Incheon National University and the local community to continue their exchanges.

The event also included an introduction to Incheon National University’s medical education initiative. A total of 81 participants took part in a related signature activity at the venue.

Professional baseball commentator Seonghwan Cho delivered a career lecture using teamwork in professional baseball as an example. He emphasized the importance of people with different talents working together and respecting one another.

Following the lecture, participants took commemorative photos with Cho and attended an autograph session. They then participated in a student cafeteria experience, a session introducing university study, an MBTI program, and physical activities with students from the Division of Sport Science.

One parent who participated in the event said, “Through this program, I had an opportunity to learn more about Incheon National University and take part in various activities. I hope there will be more programs with Namdong-gu in the future.”

Hyojung Kim, Secretary-General of the Namdong-gu Family Center, who helped organize the event, said, “It was meaningful to provide participants from Namdong-gu with this experience through cooperation with a local university.” She added, “We look forward to continuing to develop programs with Incheon National University.”

Jinbae Hong, Vice President for International and External Affairs at Incheon National University, who planned the event, said, “Through the Incheon Regional Innovation System & Education (i-RISE) initiative, we will continue to develop programs with local organizations and provide opportunities for people from different backgrounds to participate in university activities.”
